Trozzi, Blaha named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Senior goalkeeper from St. John Fisher University, Sophia Trozzi, and senior forward from Lasell University, Sheridan Blaha, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Junior defender from Hobart & William Smith College, Hannah Huston, junior midfielder from No. 2 Babson College, Camille Marsh, and junior forward from St. John Fisher University, Audrey Grieb, also received honorable mention nods for Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as well.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Sophia Trozzi, St. John Fisher University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Warminster, Pennsylvania)

  • Named Empire 8 Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Allowed just one goal and made 28 saves for a remarkable .966 save percentage in a 2-0 week for SJF.
  • Stopped all 17 shots she faced in the win over SUNY Brockport.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Sheridan Blaha, Lasell University, Sr., Forward (Waltham, Massachusetts)

  • Named GNAC Player of the Week.
  • Netted a hat-trick and collected an assist in a 11-0 win over Dean.
  • Added a second hat-trick in a 6-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer.
  • Leads the conference in points.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Hannah Huston​, Hobart & William Smith College, Jr., Defender (Bowdoin, Maine)

  • Led the Herons to a perfect 2-0 week, defeating Houghton and RPI.
  • Anchored a defensive unit that allowed zero goals in the the two contests.
  • Tallied four points on two goals against RPI, including the game winner. 

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Camille Marsh, No. 2 Babson College, Jr., Midfielder (Englewood, Colorado)

  • Named NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Produced a pair of multi-goal games and recording points in a 3-0 week for Babson.
  • Scored twice in wins over WPI and Salve Regina and contributed a goal and an assist in the triumph over Saint Joseph’s (Maine).

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Audrey Grieb, St. John Fisher University, Jr., Forward (Webster, New York)

  • Scored 10 points on four goals and two assists in a 6-1 win over Empire 8 foe Utica, setting career-highs in goals and points, helping St. John Fisher tie for the highest-scoring game in school history.
  • Named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
