NFHCA Aspire Coaches Academy
The Aspire Coaches Academy is dedicated to elevating and strengthening the field hockey coaching profession at the collegiate level. We achieve this by nurturing growth and a committed focus on continuous professional development. Our comprehensive program includes virtual workshops and interactive labs, supplemented by a minimum of one yearly in-person or hybrid session. These customized offerings are designed to sharpen coaches’ leadership goals, shape their coaching philosophies, and deepen their expertise in the sport.
Applications open annually in January and can be found in the NFHCA member portal.
Program Goals
- Enhance career prospects and leadership skills by actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
- Elevate coach morale and encourage thoughtful engagement with institutional colleagues, administrators and program community of student-athletes.
- Improve coaching skillsets that contribute to player and coach development. Enhance skills in communication, contract negotiations, and conflict management.
- Raise coach hockey IQ tactically and technically. Approximately 20% of the Academy will focus on tactical and technical aspects of the game and best practices.
- Foster relationships and build a coaching support community through shared experiences.
- Establish coaching career goals and objectives while exploring long term goals.

Participants & Fees
Limited to 25 collegiate coaches annually. The investment is $225 per coach with scholarships available.
Program Timeline
The NFHCA Aspire Coaches Academy runs from March through December each year.
Program Structure
Sessions consist of virtual guest speakers and virtual labs with one in-person or hybrid session annually.
