Socker, Trozzi named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Freshman goalkeeper, Sophia Trozzi, and senior forward, Bre Socker, both from St. John Fisher College, have been named this week’s Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Sophia Trozzi, St. John Fisher College, Fr., Goalkeeper (Warminster, Pennsylvania)

Trozzi posted two 4-0 shutouts for St. John Fisher College last week. On Thursday against Houghton College, she posted two saves to help secure the win. Then on Sunday, in a cross-city contest with Nazareth College, she made five more saves to keep the scoreboard clear and in the Cardinals’ favor.

Trozzi was named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

 

Bre Socker, St. John Fisher College, Sr., Forward (Liverpool, New York)

Socker posted five goals in St. John Fisher College’s final two regular-season games last week. She scored twice and assisted once in Fisher’s 4-0 win over Houghton College on Thursday. Then on Sunday, she recorded ahat trick in the Cardinals’ regular-season-finale victory at Nazareth College. Socker currently leads Fisher and the Empire 8 in goals (10) and points (24) in just four games this season.

Socker was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
