Flemings, Mckibbin named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Junior goalkeeper from No. 5 Kean University, Jenna Flemings, and first-year midfielder/forward from Shenandoah University, Mairead Mckibbin, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively. The performance of senior goalkeeper from Randolph-Macon College, Gatlin Snyder, merited an honorable mention.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Jenna Flemings, No. 5 Kean University, Jr., Goalkeeper (Tabernacle, New Jersey)

  • Earned her conference-leading fourth shutout in win last week’s contest with conference rival No. 13 The College of New Jersey
  • Made 10 saves to keep TCNJ off the board including five in the final quarter
  • Leads the conference in goals against average (.756) and save percentage (.836)
  • Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week
  • This is Flemings’ second Division II National Defensive Player of the Week honor this season

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Mairead Mckibbin, Shenandoah, Fr., Forward/Midfielder (Magnolia, Delaware)

  • Recorded 11 points last week as Shenandoah earned two ODAC wins to improve to 5-0 in league play
  • Had a hand in seven of 11 SU goals scored last week in road wins over Roanoke College and Bridgewater College
  • Helped continue the Hornets’ 12-game winning streak
  • Netted her second hat trick of the season on Friday against Bridgewater
  • Named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week

Honorable Mention

 

Gatlin Snyder, Randolph-Macon College, Sr., Goalkeeper (Powhatan, Virginia)

  • Tallied 24 saves in a split week for the Yellow Jackets
  • Recorded her third shutout of the season with two saves in a 4-0 win at Sweet Briar
  • Made a season-and career-best 22 saves in a 1-0 loss at No. 18 Lynchburg, where the Hornets’ lone goal came in the final minute of the contest
