DiPiazza named 2021 NFHCA Division III National Scholar-Athlete
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Lia DiPiazza, a fifth-year midfielder from Kean University, has been named this year’s NFHCA Division III National Scholar-Athletes.
The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor is presented annually to the Division III All-American who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year.
DiPiazza was named to the 2021 NFHCA Division III All-American Second Team and was an NFHCA Division III Region IV First-Team selection. She also garnered All-NJAC First-Team status after tallying 31 points on eight goals and 15 assists this past season. Off the field, DiPiazza serves as the Kean University Student-Athlete Advisor Committee President and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma and Lambda Alpha Sigma Honor Societies. The Recreation Administration major was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad for five-consecutive yeas and earned Scholar of Distinction status this year.
DiPiazza is the first student-athlete from Kean University to receive the National Scholar-Athlete award.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
