Toto named NFHCA November Scholastic Player of the Month

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Olivia Toto, a 2022 student-athlete from North Branford High School in Connecticut, has been named the November Scholastic Player of the Month.

Toto scored 11 goals — and scored in each championship tournament game — in the Thunderbirds’ run to their fifth Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Class S State Championship. Toto scored two goals in the first league playoff game followed by a game-winning goal in the league championship. During the CIAC state championship tournament, Toto scored four goals to help lead her team to the quarterfinals, where she scored two goals in a 3-2 victory. In the title game, Toto scored a goal in the tight 3-2 victory and was recognized as the match’s Most-Valuable Player.

Honorable Mention

Natali Foster, a 2022 midfielder from Twin Valley High School in Pennsylvania recorded nine goals and eight assists in November. Foster had two goals and one assist in the state championship game to help lead her team to win the PIAA AA State Championship title with a score of 3-2. She was named player of the game.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
