Sabez, Price NFHCA DI Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Malena Sabez, a sophomore midfielder from Miami University, and Aiko Price, a first-year goalkeeper from Northeastern University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Clara Larripa, a senior forward/midfielder from the University of Richmond, and Alyssa Klebasko, a senior goalkeeper from the University of Maryland, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week

Malena Sabez, Miami University, Sophomore, Midfielder (Mendoza, Argentina)

  • Recorded four goals during Miami’s 2-0 road week.
  • Completed a hat trick in a 5-4 overtime win at then-No. 13 Liberty, scoring the game-tying goal late in regulation and the overtime game-winner.
  • Added a goal in the RedHawks’ conference-opening win at Longwood.
  • Earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week

Aiko Price, Northeastern University, First-Year, Goalkeeper (Macungie, PA)​

  • Finished the week with 12 saves and no goals allowed over 135 minutes of regulation and overtime action.
  • Made a career-high eight saves and stopped two shootout attempts against then-No. 7 Harvard.
  • Recorded four saves in Northeastern’s 5-0 road win at Hofstra.
  • Earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division I Honorable Mention

Offensive: Clara Larripa, University of Richmond, Senior, Forward/Midfielder (Buenos Aires, Argentina)​

  • Totaled four goals and two assists for 10 points during Richmond’s 2-0 week, including a hat trick against William & Mary.
  • Earned Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Defensive: Alyssa Klebasko, University of Maryland, Senior, Goalkeeper (Odenton, MD)

  • Posted an .875 save percentage and 0.50 goals-against average across two wins, highlighted by six saves in a 1-0 shutout over then-No. 4 Wake Forest.
  • Earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
