Pollock named NFHCA November Scholastic Player of the Month

GENEVA, N.Y. — Avery Pollock, a junior forward from Lower Dauphin High School in Pennsylvania, led her team to a District Championship and State Championship on seven goals and four assists to earn the distinction of November’s NFHCA Scholastic Player of the Month. The performances of Moses Brown School senior forward, Lily Procaccianti, and Collegiate School junior midfielder, Callie Rogers, merited honorable mentions.

Pollock’s heroics on the field led Lower Dauphin to five overtime victories out of six post season games. In these overtime victories, Pollock buried three overtime game winners and assisted on two overtime goals. Possibly the biggest overtime goal of Pollock’s season came during the PIAA AAA State Final 3-2 overtime win vs Wilson. Nine minutes and fifteen seconds into the first overtime, Pollock buried the game winner to claim the title.

Honorable Mentions

Callie Rogers, a junior midfielder from Collegiate School in Virginia, recorded 15 goals and nine assists helping the lower seeded Collegiate to a LIS Conference Championship and State Championship title. During the state championship victory, Rogers scored two goals and two assists and was named First-Team All State and First-Team All LIS.

Lily Procaccianti, a senior forward from Moses Brown School in Rhode Island, recorded 29 goals and 15 assists for a 1.81 goals per game average as she led her team to the Division I State Championship title. Procaccianti was crowned MVP of the tournament.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
