Petrie named NFHCA August Scholastic Player of the Month

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Olivia Petrie, a 2024 forward from Highlands Latin School in Louisville, Kentucky, recorded 30 offensive points last month to earn the distinction of August’s NFHCA Scholastic Player of the Month.

Petrie scored 13 goals and assisted on four others across 10 games for the Highlanders. Her offensive performance helped propel her team to win their Varsity B pool and earned her the Wendy Lee Martin Most-Valuable Player award at the 49th Annual Apple Tournament as well as selection to the All-Tournament Team. She is currently the leading scorer in the state of Kentucky.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
