Noorlag, Keeler named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Freshman goalkeeper from Franklin Pierce University, Zoe Noorlag, and freshman forward from No. 10 Newberry College, Parker Keeler, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Sophomore goalkeeper from Lander University, Isabel Elenga, freshman forward from Assumption University, May van Wodenberg, and sophomore midfielder from No. 2 Shippensburg University, Agus Garibaldi, also received honorable mentions nods for Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as well.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

 

Zoe Noorlag, Franklin Pierce University, Fr., Goalkeeper (Amersfoort, Netherlands)

  • Made 14 saves in a 3-1 victory against No. 5 St. Anselm, earning a .933 save percentage.
  • Named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week.
  • Leads the NE10 with 84 saves this season.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

 

Parker Keeler, No. 10 Newberry College, Fr., Forward (Bridgeville, Delaware)

  • Named South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Scored in four straight games, recording three goals on the week.
  • Netted two goals in a 4-0 victory over Converse and one goal in the 5-0 win at Lincoln Memorial.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Isabel Elenga, Lander University, So., Goalkeeper (Hillegom, Netherlands)

  • Recorded two shutouts, her third and fourth of the season.
  • Tallied three saves against Limestone, a game Lander won in overtime.
  • Posted a career-high six saves against No. 6 Mount Olive.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

May van Wodenberg, Assumption University, Fr., Midfielder (Oosterbeek, The Netherlands)

  • Scored the game-winning goal in each game as Assumption improved to 5-0 in NE10 action following a 2-0 week.
  • Netted the second goal of the contest against New Haven, which ended up being the game-winner.
  • Tallied a goal 16 seconds into the match-up against Pace, which proved to be the game’s only goal.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Agus Garibaldi, No. 2 Shippensburg University, So., Midfielder (Recoleta, Argentina)

  • Named the PSAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week.
  • Scored the game-winning game and added two assists in a 5-1 victory over Frostburg State.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
