NFHCA Commends Academic Excellence: 2023 Division I Scholars of Distinction Recognized

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — In the current academic year, more than 260 undergraduate student-athletes have achieved the esteemed designation of NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction. This distinguished program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have consistently maintained an impressive cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

Noteworthy mentions go to Michigan State University and Sacred Heart University, both leading the pack with the highest number of honorees with nine on the Scholars of Distinction list. Not far behind, Virginia Commonwealth University takes pride in securing eight well-deserved honorees.

For your convenience, the 2023 honorees are presented below, listed alphabetically by school and then by last name. The table is designed to be both searchable and filterable.

Two additional Division I academic awards are yet to be unveiled  — the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and concluding with the announcement of the National Scholar-Athlete on February 26.

Individualized digital certificates will be generated following the February 29 deadline for any spelling corrections. Email any spelling spelling or name corrections to awards@nfhca.org no later than February 29. Any corrections made after that cannot be modified.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
