Kennedy, Rhodes named Play Safe/NFHCA Division I National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Kourtney Kennedy, senior defender from the University of Connecticut, and Daniella Rhodes, sophomore forward from Liberty University, have been named this week’s Play Safe/NFHCA Division I Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Kourtney Kennedy, University of Connecticut, Sr., Defender (Watertown, Massachusetts)

Kennedy led a defensive unit that held Hofstra University to just one shot on goal this past weekend as the Huskies earned their first win of the season. Kennedy played an important role on both sides of the ball — she contributed two goals and one assist in UCONN’s 5-0 victory.

Kennedy was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Daniella Rhodes, Liberty University, So., Forward (Durban, South Africa)

Rhodes had a hand in all three of Liberty University’s goals in their 3-1 win over Davidson College on Sunday. Rhodes notched two goals — including the game-winner — and one assist, for five points in the Flames’ season opener.

Rhodes was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
