Heck named NFHCA September Scholastic Player of the Month

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Ryleigh Heck, a 2022 midfielder/forward from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey, recorded 101 offensive points last month to earn the distinction of September’s NFHCA Scholastic Player of the Month.

Heck scored 47 goals and assisted on seven others across 10 games for the Vikings. In the first game of Eastern’s 2021 season, Heck recorded her 200th career goal. In addition to her offensive performance, she also recorded six defensive saves.

 

Honorable Mentions

Talia Schenk, a 2022 midfielder/forward from Lawrence High School in New Jersey, posted 51 goals across nine games.

Mia Smith, a 2022 student-athlete from Lakeland High School in New York, recorded 17 goals and six assists helping the Hornets to an undefeated September.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
