Harris, Schweighart NFHCA DII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Anna Harris, a first-year forward from Kutztown University, and Liv Schweighart, a first-year goalkeeper from Shippensburg University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Meghan Smith, a senior forward from Saint Anselm College, and Autumn Kern, a sophomore midfielder from Converse University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Anna Harris, Kutztown University, First-Year, Midfielder (Reston, VA)

• Tallied two goals and an assist for five points as Kutztown defeated then-No. 7 Saint Anselm and then-No. 8 Assumption.
• Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 road win at Saint Anselm.
• Added a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win at Assumption.
• Earned PSAC Athlete of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

Liv Schweighart, Shippensburg University, First-Year, Goalkeeper (Mechanicsburg, PA)

• Recorded a shutout in Shippensburg’s 2-0 win over then-No. 3 Newberry.
• Extended the Raiders’ season-opening shutout streak to three games.
• Protected the shutout as Shippensburg defended four penalty corners in the fourth quarter against Newberry.
• Earned PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division II Honorable Mention

Offensive: Meghan Smith, Saint Anselm College, Senior, Forward (Uxbridge, MA)

• Scored all three Saint Anselm goals during the Hawks’ 1-1 week, registering both goals in a 2-1 win over Bentley and adding the team’s only goal in a one-goal loss to then-No. 2 Kutztown.
• Earned NE10 Player of the Week honors.

Defensive: Autumn Kern, Converse University, Sophomore, Midfielder (Lusby, MD)

• Anchored a back line that recorded two shutouts and limited Coker and Wingate to five total shots and one shot on goal.
• Earned SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
