Hamm, Lerro named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Brooke Hamm, junior goalkeeper from Bridgewater College, and Jackie Lerro, senior forward from the University of Lynchburg, have been named this week’s Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Brooke Hamm, Bridgewater College, Jr., Goalkeeper (Dickerson, Maryland)

Last week, in two 2-1 wins for Bridgewater College, Hamm played 125 minutes in goal and posted 21 saves. On Tuesday in the Eagles’ overtime win against conference-rival Roanoke College, Hamm faced 34 shots and allowed only one goal. Then on Friday against Ferrum College, she faced 22 shots and allowed only one goal in the final minute of the game.

Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Jackie Lerro, University of Lynchburg, Sr., Forward (Royersford, Pennsylvania)

Lerro posted ten points on four goals and two assists last week for the University of Lynchburg. On Tuesday against Washington and Lee University, Lerro opened scoring with a goal in the first period, she then assisted on the overtime game winner to help secure the Hornets’ 3-2 win. Then on Friday, Lerro scored her first hat trick of the season in a 6-0 win over Randolph-Macon College. Lerro currently leads the ODAC in goals (6) and points (15).
