Eaton named NFHCA January Club Player of the Month

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Emily Eaton, a senior midfielder/defender hailing from Charlotte Ambush Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, has earned the prestigious title of NFHCA January Club Player of the Month. Eaton played a pivotal role in guiding her team to NIT qualification, culminating in a silver medal victory at the 2024 Sunshine Showcase in Kissimmee, Florida. Known for her remarkable versatility as a defender or midfielder, Eaton’s adept goal-scoring abilities, showcased through precise shots and deft flicks, shined prominently in indoor play.

Throughout January, spanning over 10 games, Eaton demonstrated her exceptional skills by notching an impressive total of 12 goals, complemented by five assists and a notable defensive save. Her influential contributions paved the way for her team’s stellar performance, securing eight victories, a tie, and just one defeat. Beyond her on-field accomplishments, Eaton also serves as the captain for the Charlotte Ambush, embodying leadership qualities both on and off the pitch.

Honorable Mention goes to Gracie Buxton, a forward from the Class of 2026 at Lonestar Field Hockey Club in Austin, Texas. During the 2024 NFHCA Winter Escape Showcase in Sanford, Florida, Buxton led the charge for Lonestar FHC, contributing significantly to four wins, one draw, and one loss across six games. She delivered four assists and netted six goals, showcasing her prowess with a backhand shot executed at full speed during a closely contested match.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States.
