Dahmen, Yazzetti NFHCA DII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Wibien Dahmen, a senior forward from Newberry College, and Jenna Yazzetti, a first-year goalkeeper from Frostburg State University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Juana Caracotche Picone, a first-year midfielder from Shippensburg University, and Mara Alvarez Auguet, a sophomore defender from Adelphi University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Wibien Dahmen, Newberry College, Senior, Forward (Bavel, Netherlands)

  • Totaled four goals and one assist for nine points during Newberry’s 2-0 conference week.
  • Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 road win at Belmont Abbey.
  • Recorded a hat trick and an assist in a 5-0 win over Wingate.
  • Earned SAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

Jenna Yazzetti, Frostburg State University, First-Year, Goalkeeper (Mahopac, NY)

  • Made 11 saves in Frostburg State’s 4-1 road win at Millersville.
  • Denied consecutive attempts late in the first quarter and again early in the second to keep the game tied.
  • Helped the Bobcats hold Millersville scoreless over the final 48 minutes and secure their first PSAC win of the season.
  • Earned PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.

NFHCA Division II Honorable Mention

Offensive: Juana Caracotche Picone, Shippensburg University, First-Year, Midfielder (Mar del Plata, Argentina)​

  • Assisted the double-overtime winner against then-No. 9 IUP before scoring in a 2-0 road win at then-No. 6 West Chester.
  • Earned PSAC Athlete of the Week honors.

Defensive: Marta Alvarez Auguet, Adelphi University, Sophomore, Defender (Terrassa, Spain)

  • Recorded two defensive saves in a 2-1 overtime comeback against Pace and helped Adelphi earn consecutive overtime conference wins.
  • Earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
