Chandler Johnson named NFHCA September Scholastic Player of the Month

GENEVA, N.Y. — Chandler Johnson, a senior midfielder from Gloucester High School in Gloucester, Virginia, recorded 62 offensive points last month to earn the distinction of September’s NFHCA Scholastic Player of the Month.

Johnson scored 21 goals and assisted on 20 others across eight games for Gloucester. In the month of September, Johnson held a staggering 2.625 goals per game average and 2.5 assists per game average. In addition to her offensive performance, Johnson recorded two defensive saves.

Honorable Mentions

Charley Noah, a junior midfielder from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Maryland, posted six defensive saves, 10 goals, and four assists across nine games.

Rachel Herbine, a senior forward from Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania, recorded 26 goals and 26 assists helping the Green Hornets to an undefeated September.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
