Barrett, Buchman named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y. — Sophomore goalkeeper from University of Mount Olive, Alanna Barrett, and junior forward from No. 4 Kutztown University, Jillian Buchman, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week sponsored by ScoreBreak, respectively.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week
Alanna Barrett, University of Mount Olive, So., Goalkeeper (Culpeper, Virginia)
- Led the University of Mount Olive defense in a pair of league wins
- Tallied three saves on 11 shots, including seven in the second half in the 4-2 victory vs Lander University
- Made four saves on seven shots faced in the 2-1 victory vs Belmont Abbey College
- This marks the program’s first-ever victory over Belmont Abbey on the road
- Named SAC Defensive Player of the Week
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
Jillian Buchman, No. 4 Kutztown University, Jr., Forward (Hazelton, Pennsylvanian)
- Scored three goals in the 2-0 week for Kutztown
- Buried the overtime winner to defeat Lindenwood University 3-2
- Scored two goals in the 3-2 conference win vs No. 9 Mansfield University
- Named PSAC Athlete of the Week
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
