COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Lana Mignon de Wet, a junior midfielder/defender from Adelphi University, and Emma Hulsmeyer, a senior defender from Newberry College, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Lise Holla, a first year forward from Lincoln Memorial University, and Laurentien van den Akker, a junior defender from Saint Anselm College, received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
Lana Mignon De Wet, Adelphi University, Junior, Midfielder/Defender (Pretoria, South Africa)
- Recorded back-to-back hat tricks for six goals and 12 points in two victories for the Panthers.
- Leads NCAA Division II in goals scored (22).
- Named NE10 Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this year.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Hulsmeyer, Newberry College, Senior, Defender (Louisville, KY)
- Anchored the Newberry defense in back-to-back shutout wins over Wingate and Belmont Abbey.
- Contributed offensively with a goal in the victory over Wingate while helping limit opponents to just seven total shots across both games.
- Named South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division II Honorable Mention
Offensive: Lise Holla, Lincoln Memorial University, First Year, Forward (Utrecht, Netherlands)
- Scored both goals, including the game-winner, to lead Lincoln Memorial to a conference victory over Converse.
- Named South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Defensive: Laurentien van den Akker, Saint Anselm College, Junior, Defender (Geldrop, Netherlands)
- Registered a goal and an assist to lead Saint Anselm past Southern New Hampshire in a 2–0 win that marked the Hawks’ fifth straight shutout.
- Named NE10 Defensive Player of the Week.
