Sessa, Howard named NFHCA Division I National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Ashley Sessa, a sophomore forward from No. 1 Northwestern University, and Sophia Howard, a senior goalkeeper from Rutgers University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Sophia Howard, Rutgers University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Auckland, New Zealand)
- Named B1G Defensive Player of the Week.
- Produced a pair of shutouts, helping Rutgers to a 2-0 victory against Michigan State, and a 1-0 win over No. 3 Ohio State.
- Collected four saves against the Buckeyes, keeping the nation’s fifth-highest scoring team off the board, and leading the Scarlet Knights to their seventh-straight win in the head-to-head series.
