NFHCA Names Middlebury College’s Segal 2024 Division III National Scholar-Athlete

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Caroline Segal, a senior forward from Middlebury College, has been named the 2024 NFHCA Division III National Scholar-Athlete.

The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor is presented annually to the Division III First Team All-American undergraduate who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year.

Segal excelled both on and off the field, maintaining a remarkable 3.96 GPA while leading the NCAA Division III national champions with 24 goals and nine assists.

As captain of the Middlebury squad, she was named NESCAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned NFHCA First-Team All-Region honors, along with a prestigious spot on the NFHCA All-American First Team. Her stellar performance also secured her a place on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Segal thrived academically, earning NESCAC All-Academic honors and recognition as an NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction, as well as a spot on the National Academic Squad.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
