Lewis, Buchanan named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Junior midfielder from SUNY Geneseo, Sam Lewis, and senior goalkeeper from SUNY Brockport, Ella Buchanan, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Junior forward from Husson University, Maddie Arsenault, received an honorable mention nod for Division III Offensive Player of the Week as well.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Ella Buchanan, SUNY Brockport, Sr., Goalkeeper (Barneveld, NY)

  • Named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Stopped 13-of-14 shots for a .929 save percentage and 0.46 goals against average in victories over Juniata and Allegheny.
  • Posted 13 saves in a 2-1 double-overtime win over Juniata.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Sam Lewis, SUNY Geneseo, Jr., Midfielder (East Rochester, NY)

  • Named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Assisted on a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as Geneseo defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 3-2.
  • Recorded a hat trick in a 5-0 victory over Vassar.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Maddie Arsenault, Husson University, Jr., Forward (Old Town, ME)

  • Registered nine total points in a 12-0 win over Russell Sage and 3-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.
