Iritxity Irigoyen, Oudshoorn named NFHCA Division I National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Senior goalkeeper from No. 9 Liberty University, Azul Iritxity Irigoyen, and senior forward from No. 19 University of Delaware, Kiki Oudshoorn, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Senior goalkeeper from No. 3 Northwestern University, Annabel Skubisz, and senior forward from No. 18 The Ohio State University, Makenna Webster, received honorable mention nods for Division I Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, as well.

NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week

 

Azul Iritxity Irigoyen, No. 9 Liberty University, So., Goalkeeper (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

  • Iritxity Irigoyen won both of her starts this past week and boasted a miniscule 0.43 goals-against-average, seven saves, a .875 save percentage and one shutout.
  • On the year, Iritxity Irigoyen is 4-0 with a 0.46 goals-against average, 13 saves, a .867 save percentage and two shutouts.
  • Leads the nation in GAA (0.46) and ranks third in save percentage (.867) for a Liberty defense that leads the country in GAA (0.46) and is second in save percentage (.889).

NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week

 

Kiki Oudshoorn, Sr. Forward, No. 19 University of Delaware, (Ede, Netherlands)

  • CAA Co-Player of the Week.
  • Registered 13 points, including back-to-back hat tricks in a 2-0 week for the Blue Hens.
  • Tallied a career-high seven points on three goals and one assist in a victory over Villanova, marking her first career hat-trick.
  • Netted game-winning goal against Columbia.
  • Leads the CAA in goals (9) and points (19); Ranks first in the NCAA in goals per game (2.25) and second in points per game (4.75).

NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Annabel Skubisz, No. 3 Northwestern University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Houston, Texas)

  • Led Northwestern to a pair of wins against ranked opponents at the ACC/Big Ten Cup.
  • Recorded a shutout against #16 Boston College in an overtime win.
  • Held #13 Duke scoreless for 45 minutes.

NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Makenna Webster, No. 18 The Ohio State University, Sr., Forward (St. Louis, Missouri)

  • Scored two game-winning goals on the week.
  • Factored in seven of 11 OSU goals (over three games).
  • Compiled five goals and two assists.
  • Extended goal-scoring streak to four games.
  • Has propelled OSU (5-0) to its best start since 2006.
