Gutch, Comiskey NFHCA DIII Field Hockey Players of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Lily Gutch, a senior midfielder/forward from William Smith College, and Gail Comiskey, a senior goalkeeper from SUNY New Paltz, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Caroline DiGiovanni, a senior forward from Babson College, and Taylor Morrow, a senior goalkeeper from Dickinson College, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week
Lily Gutch, William Smith, Senior, Midfielder/Forward (Saratoga Springs, NY)
- Recorded six goals, including two game-winners, to lead William Smith to a 3-0 week.
- Highlighted the stretch with a hat trick against Houghton and multi-goal performances in conference wins over RPI and Vassar.
- Honored as the Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week
Gail Comiskey, SUNY New Paltz, Senior, Goalkeeper (Patchogue, NY)
- Recorded a .941 save percentage and 0.67 goals-against average, highlighted by a 15-save performance in a narrow 1–0 loss to then-No.1 Christopher Newport.
- Contributed to a combined shutout in a victory over Morrisville.
- Recognized as the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division III Honorable Mention
Offensive: Caroline DiGiovanni, Babson College, Senior, Forward (Harwich, MA)
- Scored four goals across two wins, including the game-winner in the Beavers’ 1-0 victory over then-No. 8 Bowdoin.
- Named the NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Defensive: Taylor Morrow, Dickinson College, Senior, Goalkeeper (Marlboro, NJ)
- Led Dickinson to a pair of conference road wins, including a 1-0 shutout of then-No. 19 Haverford, allowing just one goal across 120 minutes of action.
- Honored as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
