Farquhar, Minickene NFHCA DIII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Brooke Farquhar, a sophomore forward from Colby-Sawyer College, and Faith Minickene, a sophomore goalkeeper from Endicott College, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Tori Swanson, a senior forward from Endicott College, and Steph Ionescu, a sophomore goalkeeper from Haverford College, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week
Brooke Farquhar, Colby-Sawyer College, Sophomore, Forward (Gorham, ME)
- Piled up nine points across two GNAC victories to keep Colby-Sawyer unbeaten in conference play.
- Scored twice and added an assist on nine shots in a win over Lasell, then followed with a goal and two assists in the next outing.
- Earned GNAC Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week
Faith Minickene, Endicott College, Sophomore, Goalkeeper (Madison, CT)
- Went 3–0 on the week, posting a .926 save percentage and a 0.77 goals-against average
- Made 18 saves in Endicott’s overtime win over then-No. 1 Middlebury.
NFHCA Division III Honorable Mention
Offensive: Tori Swanson, Endicott College, Senior, Forward (Farmington, CT)
- Scored the overtime game-winner in a 2–1 upset of then-No. 1 Middlebury, snapping the Panthers’ 60-game non-conference unbeaten streak dating back to 2017.
- With nine points on the week, became Endicott’s all-time points leader.
- Earned Conference of New England (CNE) Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Defensive: Steph Ionescu, Haverford College, Sophomore, Goalkeper (Wilton, CT)
- Anchored Haverford’s defense in a 2–0 week, highlighted by a season-best 10-save effort in a 3–2 win over then-No. 16 Franklin & Marshall.
