NFHCA Student-Athlete Awards
The NFHCA is proud to honor on and off the field successes of our member coaches and their student-athletes through our national awards and recognition programs. Coaches with active NFHCA memberships can submit nominations for awards and recognition and are notified when the nomination periods open.
Watchlist
The NFHCA Watchlist represents top collegiate and high school student-athletes who are early contenders for this year’s NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams, as nominated by their member coaches.

All-Region
All-Region teams are made up of student-athletes that represent the highest level of field hockey players in their region with regard to the nominating criteria. A region’s team size is contingent on the number of institutions (collegiate) or NFHCA members (high school) within their region.

All-American
All-American teams are made up of student-athletes that represent the highest level of field hockey players in the nation, with regard to the nominating criteria. Annually, 176 high school and collegiate student-athletes earn this prestigious distinction.

Regional Player of the Year
Regional Player of the Year honors are awarded to the student-athlete who is voted at the top of their region by head member coaches in their respective collegiate regions.

National Player of the Year
The National Player of the Year award is presented to the top field hockey athlete at each collegiate level, as voted on by member coaches.

Senior Team
The Senior Team recognizes senior student-athletes who have demonstrated high performance and impact during their final season, based on established nomination criteria. Selected from coach-submitted nominations, this honor highlights the most outstanding seniors in each division.

Impact Senior Team
The High School Impact Senior Team recognizes outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate excellence in leadership, character, and performance both on and off the field. Nominees must meet established athletic and character criteria, with consideration given to leadership, community service, individual achievement, and team impact.

Player of the Month
The Player of the Month program honors top high school and club performers throughout the year. Players are nominated by their own NFHCA-member coaches.

Player of the Week
The Player of the Week program honors an offensive and defensive player of the week in each collegiate division throughout the season. Student-athletes are nominated by their collegiate conference.

National Scholar-Athlete
This award is presented to the First Team All-American undergraduate student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average through the fall semester of the current academic year.

Scholars of Distinction
This program recognizes undergraduate student-athletes and scholastic junior and senior student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.90 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year.

National Academic Squad
This program honors undergraduate collegiate student-athletes and scholastic junior and senior student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year.

National Academic Team Award
The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.50 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
