Andrade, Jacoby NFHCA DIII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Caroline Andrade, a first year midfielder/forward from Westfield State, and Ginna Jacoby, a first year goalkeeper from Colby College, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Lindsey Loar, a junior forward from Christopher Newport, and Ella Bowman, a sophomore goalkeeper from Catholic University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

Caroline Andrade, Westfield State, First Year, Midfielder/Forward (Watertown, MA) 

• Recorded five goals and two assists for 12 total points in a 3-0 week for Westfield State University.
• Tallied two goals and one assist in a key 5–4 victory over Bridgewater State, helping the Owls secure sole possession of first place in the MASCAC.
• Also recognized as the MASCAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

Ginna Jacoby, Colby College, First Year, Goalkeeper (Denver, CO) 

• Recorded a career-high 21 saves in Colby College’s 5–2 win over No. 10 Hamilton.
• Her 21-save effort ranks among the top-10 single-game performances in NCAA Division III this year.
• Also named the NESCAC Co-Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division III Honorable Mention

Offensive: Lindsey Loar, Christopher Newport, Junior, Forward (Fredricksburg, VA)

• Scored four of No. 1 Christopher Newport’s six goals across two shutout victories, including the game-winning goal in both contests.

Defensive: Ella Bowman, Catholic University, Sophomore, Goalkeeper (Ashburn, VA)

• Made eight saves, including two first-half penalty-stroke stops and two saves in the first extra session, to help Catholic earn a 2–1 double-overtime win over Moravian.
• Also recognized as the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performance.
