Weidenhammer, Swann named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Sophomore midfielder from Lebanon Valley College, Claire Weidenhammer, and senior goalkeeper from No. 9 Shenandoah University, Taylor Swann, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Camryn DeLeva, a sophomore defender from Shenandoah University, and Maeve Clark, a sophomore goalkeeper from No. 22 Ithaca College, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Taylor Swann, No. 9 Shenandoah University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Crisfield, Maryland)

  • Named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Recorded 14 saves in a 2-0 week for Shenandoah, including an overtime victory over No. 13 University of Lynchburg.
  • Secured her sixth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Bridgewater College.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Claire Weidenhammer, Lebanon Valley College, So., Midfielder (Newport, Pennsylvania)

  • Named Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Tallied 10 points on four goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for Lebanon Valley.
  • Registered two goals an an assist as Lebanon Valley handed Arcadia its first conference loss this season.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Maeve Clark, No. 22 Ithaca College, So., Goalkeeper (Beverly, Massachusetts)

  • Named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week.
  • Earned a 5-0 shutout over SUNY Oswego before making 13 total saves in an overtime 2-1 shootout victory over then-No. 17 Ursinus College.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Camryn DeLeva, No. 9 Shenandoah University, So., Defender (Mantua, New Jersey)

  • Named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Netted four goals in a 2-0 week for Shenandoah, including wins over Bridgewater College and an overtime victory over No. 13 University of Lynchburg.
