Healey, Kerr named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Senior forward from Plymouth State University, Taylor Healey, and junior goalkeeper from No. 6 Christopher Newport University, Lily Kerr, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Alli Palumbo, a senior forward from Rowan University, and Morgan Russo, a sophomore goalkeeper from Nazareth University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

Lily Kerr, No. 6 Christopher Newport University, Jr., Goalkeeper (Edgewater, Maryland)

  • Named Coast-to-Coast Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Collected 15 saves across three shutout contests in a 3-0 week for the Captains.
  • Registered a 1-0 blanking of Washington & Lee, the first time the Generals were shut out at home since 2019.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

Taylor Healey, Plymouth State University, Sr., Forward (Campton, New Hampshire)

  • Named Little East Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Exploded for 17 points in a 3-0 week for the Panthers.
  • Posted a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Southern Maine, and added four more in a 5-1 victory over Framingham State. She then added a goal and an assist as Plymouth State held off, UMass Dartmouth, 5-4.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

 

Morgan Russo, Nazareth University, So., Goalkeeper (Illion, New York)

  • Named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Collected 15 saves, including seven in the fourth quarter, in a 2-0 victory over St. John Fisher. It marked her third shutout of the season.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Honorable Mention

Alli Palumbo, Rowan University, Sr., Forward (Mantua, New Jersey)

  • Named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Netted the game-winner in an upset, 2-1 overtime victory over No. 2 Salisbury University. The goal marked the 100th point of her career.
