Webster, Kieft named NFHCA Division I National Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Makenna Webster, a graduate student forward from The Ohio State University, and Paige Kieft, a graduate student goalkeeper from Saint Joe’s University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division I Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Lou Combrinck, a senior midfielder/forward from Liberty University and Raffi Fragomeni, a senior goalkeeper from Lafayette College, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
NFHCA Division I Defensive Player of the Week
Paige Kieft, Saint Joseph’s University, Graduate Student, Goalkeeper (Newtown Square, PA)
- Named the season’s first Atlantic-10 Defensive Player of the Week
- Tallied seven saves plus a clutch stop in the shootout, to backstop the Hawks’ win over No. 11 UConn
- Stopped six shots in a shutout win over New Hampshire
NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week
Makenna Webster, Ohio State University, Graduate Student, Forward (St. Louis, MO)
- Named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar opening weekend of play
- Scored 10 goals and tallied one assist in two victories over the weekend
- Netted four goals in a shutout win versus Ball State
- Set a single-game program scoring record with six goals versus Kent State
NFHCA Division I Honorable Mention
Defensive: Raffi Fragomeni, Lafayette College, Senior, Goalkeeper (Mountain Lakes, NJ)
- Named the season’s first Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week
- Recorded 13 saves in two shutouts against Fairfield and Drexel
Offensive: Lou Combrinck, Liberty University, Senior, Midfielder/Forward (Hillcrest, South Africa)
- Tallied the game-winning goal and added two assists in Liberty’s 4-3 comeback win versus No. 5 Duke
- Named the season’s first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
