Tamara Durante appointed to NFHCA Board of Directors

GENEVA, N.Y. — The NFHCA Board of Directors approved the appointment of Tamara Durante, Associate Head Coach at Michigan State University, as the new NCAA Associate/Assistant Coach Representative on the NFHCA Board of Directors. Durante will serve the one-year remaining of Katie Kloeckener’s term who resigned her position in February and will be eligible for re-election for a full three-year term next February.

For the past six seasons Durante has been part of the Michigan State Spartans’ coaching staff. Prior to her time in Lansing, she spent ten years as an assistant and associate head coach at Yale University. Durante is involved with USFHA and won a gold medal as an assistant coach for the Under-21 U.S. team at the Junior Pan American Games in 2008. Durante also served as an assistant coach for the USA Under-19 National Team and its successor, the USA Rise Team, taking home gold with the U-19 Team at the 2019 Young Women’s National Championship and claiming the bronze medal with the Rise squad at the 2021 Young Women’s National Championship.
Durante has been deeply involved in various NFHCA committees and has previous Board service.
Durante will begin her one-year term as the Associate/Assistant Coach Representative immediately.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
