NFHCA, USA Field Hockey Renew Alliance Through 2028

Sep 5, 2025 | 2025-2026, News

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – USA Field Hockey and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) have renewed their Strategic Alliance through August 2028, extending a collaboration that began in 2022. The agreement reflects a shared vision to support and strengthen coach development, sustain and expand collegiate programs, and enhance the national visibility for the sport.

The alliance is anchored in three priorities: advancing professional coach development and recognition, supporting the sustainability and growth of collegiate field hockey, and enhancing collaboration to expand the visibility of field hockey. Joint initiatives include coordinated promotion of education opportunities such as the NFHCA Annual Convention, Ready2Coach Clinics, and USA Field Hockey’s coach certification programs and National Forum event.

The Alliance also aims to advance two cornerstone initiatives. The Field Hockey Forward initiative, launched under the original 2022 agreement, will continue to serve as a joint effort to grow and sustain collegiate field hockey opportunities, particularly in Divisions II and III. Similarly, the Stay in the Game campaign, introduced last spring by the NFHCA, will now grow into a collaborative effort with USA Field Hockey. The campaign is designed to keep student-athletes actively connected to the sport after graduation by promoting pathways into coaching, umpiring, and continued adult play.

Cate Clark, executive director of the NFHCA, said the renewed alliance aligns directly with the NFHCA’s mission to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game itself. “Together with USA Field Hockey, we are strengthening our commitment to coaches, advancing collaboration, and ensuring meaningful visibility for the sport,” Clark said. “Alignment amplifies our collective impact across the field hockey community.”

USA Field Hockey’s executive director, Simon Hoskins, echoed the importance of the collaboration. “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the NFHCA,” Hoskins said. “Working together we can better advance the game and provide valued services to the coach community in every part of the field hockey ecosystem.”

The updated agreement runs through Aug. 31, 2028, and will be reviewed annually to evaluate progress and identify opportunities for new initiatives.
