NFHCA Names University of Michigan’s Tamer 2024 Division I National Scholar-Athlete

The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor is presented annually to the Division I First Team All-American undergraduate who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year.
Tamer maintained an exceptional 3.92 grade point average while excelling on the pitch for the 15-5 Wolverines, starting all 20 contests and leading Michigan in points with 38, scoring 12 goals and adding 14 assists.
In addition to being named an NFHCA Division I First Team All-American, her outstanding performance earned her numerous accolades, including NFHCA All-West Region First Team, and a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team. She also excelled academically, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors, recognition as an NFHCA Division I Scholar of Distinction, and a place on the Division I National Academic Squad.
Tamer also made Michigan history, becoming the first-ever Wolverine to represent the United States at the Olympic Games. She started all five games at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, leading the USA in scoring with two goals.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
