MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Board of Directors has announced it has elected to extend the contract of Executive Director Cate Clark through June 2027. Clark, who began her tenure as executive director in June of 2021, has already put into place numerous initiatives to grow the organization’s membership and expand its reach across all levels of the field hockey coaching landscape.
“We are thrilled that Cate has agreed to continue to lead the NFHCA with this contract extension. She has been a tremendous leader and asset to our organization, and has ushered us into a new era of impactful and engaging collaboration and community amongst the entire membership and sport,” remarked Carolyn King-Robitaille, President, NFHCA Board of Directors. “Similarly, the creation and expansion of coach education, mentorship opportunities, and educational and professional programming has provided our growing membership with essential resources. We are grateful for her stewardship thus far and look forward to all of the exciting and important work ahead with her leading the way.”
Some key initiatives that have been bolstered under Clark’s leadership include guiding the association through strategic planning. These efforts have introduced new programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing community engagement and increasing visibility for field hockey and the association. Highlights of her tenure also include the NFHCA Watchlist, NFHCA Plays of the Week, NFHCA Giving Program, Aspire Coaches Academy, Campfire Mentoring Program, and expanded regional Ready2Coach offerings. Partnerships such as NFHCARecruits with SportsRecruits and the Strategic Alliance with USA Field Hockey have bolstered collaborative efforts under the Field Hockey Forward initiative. Moreover, additional revenue sources have been secured to fortify the association’s financial standing and ensure its long-term stability.
“I am deeply honored to continue my journey with the NHFCA. It’s a privilege to serve such a passionate community that supports our mission of championing and strengthening coaches and the game. Our members and supporters inspire me daily,” Clark shared.
