NFHCA announces 2021 NFHCA Division II Regional Players of the Year
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Kylie Gargiulo from Assumption University and Jazmin Petrantonio from Shippensburg University were selected to represent their respective region as the NFHCA Division II Regional Player of the Year. Each regional award winner is now in the running for NFHCA National Player of the Year honors.
Atlantic Region
Jazmin Petrantonio, Shippensburg University, Sr., Midfielder/Forward (Saenz Pena, Argentina)
- Named to NFHCA Division II All-America First-Team
- Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) All-Conference first-team selection and PSAC Athlete of the Year
- Honored on 2021 NCAA Division II Field Hockey All-Tournament team and selected as the tournament’s Most-Outstanding Player
- Nominated for 2021-2022 Division II Honda Athlete of the Year for field hockey
- This is Petrantonio’s third NFHCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year honor
East Region
Kylie Gargiulo, Assumption University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Madison, Connecticut)
- Named to NFHCA Division II All-America First-Team
- All-Northeast-10 Conference first-team selection and NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Year
- Honored on 2021 NCAA Division II Field Hockey All-Tournament team
- Three-time NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week
- Posted 10 shutouts with a 0.838 save percentage for the Greyhounds in 2021, save percentage was second in the nation
The NFHCA Division II Regional Player of the Year announcement is the second in a list of postseason awards from the NFHCA. The NFHCA Division II All-American team was released on December 14 and the NFHCA Division II National Player of the Year will be announced on December 16.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
