BROCKPORT, N.Y. — As a result of the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) election, three new members — Anne Parmenter, Chrissy Summers, and Enza Steele — will take their seats on the NFHCA Executive Board.
Anne Parmenter has been elected to the role of NFHCA president. Parmenter is currently the head coach at Trinity College, where she has led the Bantams for 19 seasons. She was inducted to the NFHCA Hall of Fame in 2019.
As the newly elected NFHCA president, Parmenter will relieve Carla Tagliente, head coach at Princeton University, who has been serving in an interim capacity since March.
“I would like to thank the NFHCA membership for their trust and support, especially at this difficult time,” Parmenter said. “I am committed to moving this organization and the sport of field hockey forward as we all come together to achieve that same goal. I look forward to working with our entire membership for the good of the sport and I am confident that together we will be even stronger when we take the field again.”
In addition to her coaching position at Trinity, Parmenter is a full professor and director of physical education at the college. Parmenter is also a 2013 graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy where she was honored with the Judy Sweet Award.
Chrissy Lewis Summers, founder of Beyond Sticks and Play Beyond the Game, has been elected to serve the NFHCA membership as its first vice-president. In her new role, she will also chair the Awards & Hall of Fame Committee.
In 2019, Summers was presented with NFHCA’s Junior Hockey Award for her exceptional work in youth field hockey programming.
Enza Steele, head coach and senior woman administrator at the University of Lynchburg, was elected to serve as the Division III group representative on the NFHCA Executive Board.
Steele just completed her 41st season with the Hornets and was inducted into the NFHCA Hall of Fame and the 600 Victory Club this past January.
Each new board member will begin their two-year term immediately.
