Koons, Rodriguez-Ricchiuti named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

GENEVA, N.Y. — Sophomore goalkeeper from No. 5 Millersville University, Kerstin Koons, and sophomore midfielder from Southern Connecticut State University, Trinidad Rodriguez-Ricchiuti, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week sponsored by ScoreBreak, respectively.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week
Kerstin Koons, No. 5 Millersville University, So., Goalkeeper (Lewisburg, Pennsylvania)
- Posted her third-straight shutout in the 4-0 victory vs Saint Thomas Aquinas
- Made four saves to earn the shutout
- Ranks fifth in the PSAC for goals against average (.942)
- Named PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
Trinidad Rodriguez-Ricchiuti, Southern Connecticut State University, So., Midfielder (Adrogue, Buenos Aires, Argentina)
- Scored two goals and two assists for a total of six points in the 2-0 week
- Notched the game-tying assist in the 2-1 victory over American International College
- Scored two goals and an assist in the 5-1 victory over Franklin Pierce University
- Tied for first in the NE10 for points
- Named NE10 Player of the Week
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game.
