GILBERT, Ariz. — Abbey Kays, from the Lone Star Field Hockey Club based in Austin and Dallas, Texas, has been named the Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Club Player of the Month.

In January, across 12 games, Kays scored eight goals and tallied five assists for 21 points. In addition to contributing offensively, Kays also made three defensive saves.
During the month of January, Kays’ team participated in the NFHCA’s Winter Escape Showcase and competed in a USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournment qualifer. Kays scored eight of Lone Star’s 20 goals at the Winter Escape Showcase where she was named her club’s MVP of the showcase, and during Lone Star’s first-ever attempt to qualify for the USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournament, Kays’ played an integral role in the U19 team’s successful bid at their qualifying tournament.
