Hoffman, Donohue NFHCA DIII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — Karina Hoffman, a junior forward from Vassar College, and Ava Donohue, a sophomore goalkeeper from Bates College, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Ella Greico, a junior forward from SUNY Geneseo, and Aurelia McManis, a junior defender Rowan University, also received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Karina Hoffman, Vassar College, Junior, Forward (San Jose, CA)

  • Scored three goals and added an assist, including both game-winners, to lead Vassar to its first Liberty League championship since 2021.
  • Produced decisive goals in back-to-back tournament games against William Smith and Union.
  • Named Liberty League Championship Most Outstanding Performer.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Ava Donohue, Bates College, Sophomore, Goalkeeper (Cold Spring Harbor, NY)

  • Anchored Bates to its first-ever NESCAC Championship with 22 saves and two shutouts over 140 minutes.
  • Denied four of five shootout attempts against then-No. 9 Middlebury in the semifinals to help the Bobcats advance to the title game.
  • Named NESCAC Tournament Most Outstanding Performer after leading Bates to the conference title.

NFHCA Division III Honorable Mention

Offensive: Ella Greico, SUNY Geneseo, Junior, Forward (New Hartford, NY)

  • Tallied five goals and an assist to power Geneseo to its second straight Empire 8 title.
  • Set program single-season records for goals (28) and points (67) while earning Empire 8 All-Tournament honors.

Defensive: Aurelia McManis, Rowan University, Junior, Defender (Blackwood, NJ)

  • Anchored the Profs’ defense across two NJAC Tournament wins, allowing just one goal while contributing an assist.
  • Recorded a crucial defensive save in the final two minutes of regulation to preserve the shutout in the NJAC Championship, helping Rowan capture the conference title.
The NFHCA National Player of the Week program honors an offensive and defensive player of the week, in each division, throughout the season.
