Flemings, Nicholas named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Junior goalkeeper from No. 5 Kean University, Jenna Flemings, and senior midfielder from No. 1 Middlebury College, Erin Nicholas, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week

 

Jenna Flemings, No. 5 Kean University, Jr., Goalkeeper (Tabernacle, New Jersey)

  • Recorded a shutout against No. 16 Vassar College, making seven saves
  • Played every minute of two double-overtime wins over Vassar and Arcadia University
  • Played 52 minutes against No. 19 University of Lynchburg, facing seven shots and not yielding a goal while in cage
  • Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week

NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week

 

Erin Nicholas, No. 1 Middlebury College, Sr., Midfielder (Scarsdale, New York)

  • Scored six goals and assisted on two others to total 14 points in a 3-0 week for the top-ranked Panthers
  • Opened the season with two goals and an assist to surpass the 100-career point mark in a win over Castleton University
  • Added a goal and an assist on Saturday in a victory over Wesleyan University in the NESCAC opener
  • Notched a hat trick in a victory over the University of New England on Sunday
  • Named NESCAC Player of the Week

Ravenel Davis, Haverford College, Sr., Forward/Midfielder (Richmond, Virginia)

  • Davis tallied the game-winner in each of Haverford’s three victories last week
  • Recorded her first career hat trick a 4-0 win over Immaculata University
  • Scored the overtime sudden-victory winner in a 3-2 triumph over DeSales University
  • Currently leads the Centennial Conference in goals (7) and is second in points (14)

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport.
