Docherty, McMichael named NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Sophomore goalkeeper from No. 8 Trinity College, Olivia McMichael, and junior forward from Ramapo College, Victoria Docherty, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
NFHCA Division III Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia McMichael, No. 8 Trinity College, So., Goalkeeper (Glenside, Pennsylvania)
- Recored five saves in a 2-1 overtime-shootout win at No. 10 Amherst College last Tuesday
- Stopped all four shootout attempts by the Mammoths earning the Bantams the right to host a quarterfinal NESCAC tournament game
- Made six saves in the NESCAC quarterfinals to help Trinity to a 2-1 victory over No. 12 Williams College
- Named NESCAC Conference Co-Player of the Week
NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week
Victoria Docherty, Ramapo College, Jr., Forward (Newton, New Jersey)
- Had a hand in six of Ramapo College’s seven goals last week
- Tallied nine points on three goals and three assists, extending her Ramapo single-season goals record to 22
- Scored once and added an assist in a setback to Moravian College
- Contributed two goals and two assists in a win over Misericordia to wrap up the regular season
- Leads the New Jersey Athletic Conference in goals (22) and points (55) this season
- Named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
