Davis, Lewis named NFHCA Division II National Players of the Week

MANAHAWKIN, NJ  — Maddie Davis, a senior forward from No. 10 Saint Anselm College, and August Lewis, a graduate goalkeeper from No. 9 Mansfield University, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Casey Etter, a senior forward from Belmont Abbey College, also received an honorable mention nod for Offensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

August Lewis, No. 9 Mansfield University, Gr., Goalkeeper (Felton, Delaware)

  • Named PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week.
  • Posted 12 total saves in a pair of victories for the No. 9 Mountaineers, including a 2-1 upset win over No. 2 Kutztown.
  • Made a penalty stroke save to preserve a 1-0 shoutout triumph over Slippery Rock.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Maddie Davis, No. 10 Saint Anselm College, Sr., Forward (Exeter, New Hampshire)

  • Named NE10 Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Tallied four goals in a 2-0 week for the Hawks, including a 2-0 win over Saint Michael’s and a 6-0 besting of New Haven.
  • Recorded the game-winning goal against the Purple Knights and tabbed a hat trick against the Chargers.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

Casey Etter, Belmont Abbey College, Sr., Forward (Millville, New Jersey)

  • Named SAC Offensive Player of the Week.
  • Netted three goals and added an assist as the Crusaders triumphed 3-1 win over Lincoln Memorial and posted a 2-0 victory over Coker.
