Boyle, Wehrum NFHCA DII Field Hockey Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  — McKenna Boyle, a junior forward from Shippensburg University, and Mackenzie Wehrum, a junior goalkeeper from Saint Anselm College, have been named this week’s NFHCA Division II Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Maggie Burchill, a senior forward from Saint Anselm College, and Hannah White, a junior midfielder/defender from Shippensburg University, received honorable mention nods for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.

NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week

McKenna Boyle, Shippensburg University, Junior, Forward (Millsboro, DE)

  • Recorded three goals and an assist to help Shippensburg defeat then-No. 6 Bloomsburg, then-No. 4 East Stroudsburg, and then-No. 1 Kutztown en route to its second straight PSAC Championship.
  • Named PSAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week

 

Mackenzie Wehrum, Saint Anselm College, Junior, Goalkeeper (Garden City, NY)

  • Tallied 11 saves in postseason play, including eight in a 1-0 shutout of Adelphi and three key stops in a 3-2 victory over Bentley.
  • Delivered clutch performances in back-to-back double-overtime games to help the Hawks secure their first NE10 conference title since 2021.

NFHCA Division II Honorable Mention

 

Offensive: Maggie Burchill, Saint Anselm College, Senior, Midfielder (Braintree, MA)

  • Scored in all three NE10 postseason wins, including the tying and double-overtime game-winning goals in the championship game vs Bentley.
  • Named NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player.

Defensive: Hannah White, Shippensburg University, Junior, Midfielder/Defender (Princess Anne, MD)

  • Anchored Shippensburg’s backline across three postseason wins over nationally ranked opponents to capture the PSAC Championship.
  • Named PSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player.
