Amaden, O’Grady named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Krista O’Grady, freshman defender from Kean University, and Grace Amaden, senior forward from Washington and Lee University, have been named this week’s Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Krista O’Grady, Kean University, Fr., Defender (Nazareth, Pennsylvania)

O’Grady anchored a Kean University defensive unit that limited Montclair State University and Stockton University to a combined 14 shots and just nine shots on goal in two wins last week. In the first game of her collegiate career, O’Grady recorded her first defensive save and her first goal — both against MSU.

O’Grady was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

Grace Amaden, Washington and Lee University, Sr., Forward (East Hampton, New York)

Amaden registered her first career hat trick last week against Virginia Wesleyan University. In Friday’s contest, Amaden had 7 shots on goal. She currently leads the ODAC in goals (4) and is second in points (8).

Amaden was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday.
