The Karren Mann NFHCA Collegiate Senior Team
GENEVA, N.Y. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is thrilled to announce that Karren Mann has signed a gift agreement to donate $3,000 annually for ten years, from July 2023 to July 2033, to support the NFHCA Collegiate Senior Team recognition, awards, and Senior Team recognition experience. With any additional balance from her annual gift, Mann’s generous contribution will also help fund NFHCA Annual Convention scholarships for assistant collegiate coaches in need. The scholarships will provide opportunities for deserving coaches to attend the convention, gain professional development, and connect with their peers in the field hockey community.
“I have a great passion for field hockey. For me, it’s not just a game, it’s a way of life. As a former player and coach, I have experienced the camaraderie and exhilaration that this sport brings. Contributing money to the field hockey community is my way of giving back and ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same love and passion I have for this beautiful game,” said Karren Mann.
Karren Mann has a long and distinguished coaching career, specializing in goalkeepers for both field hockey and lacrosse. Her instruction has earned her players All-American and all-conference honors. Mann began her coaching career at her alma mater, Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and then coached the women’s lacrosse team at George Mason University for two seasons. Mann’s love of coaching goalkeepers brought her to James Monroe High School as an assistant coach where her keepers earned first team All-District, first team all-region, and first-team all-state honors and continued on to NCAA Division I careers. Mann returned to college coaching at Randolph-Macon from 2006-2016 and currently coaches goalkeepers at the University of Lynchburg. Serving for 18 solid years in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), Mann has coached six All-Conference goalkeepers , two NFHCA Players of the Week, one All-Region goalkeeper, and two ODAC record book achievers.
“Mann’s generosity will have a significant impact on the continued recognition and celebration of the NFHCA Senior Team program, which recognizes over 100 deserving senior collegiate student-athletes annually. We are incredibly grateful for Karren’s generosity and commitment to supporting this signature NFHCA program. Her contributions will long be honored and appreciated by the field hockey community,” said NFHCA Executive Director Cate Clark.
The NFHCA is immensely grateful to Karren Mann for her gift and for her dedication to supporting the development and recognition of collegiate field hockey athletes and coaches.
