Glatz, Larmour, Plumb named 2021 NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athletes
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Gianna Glatz and Katie Larmour of Rutgers University, and Aimee Plumb from the University of Louisville, have been named this year’s NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athletes.
The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor is presented annually to the Division I All-American who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year. Glatz, Larmour, and Plumb were in a three-way tie for the honor.
Gianna Glatz, a senior goalkeeper at Rutgers University, was named to the 2021 NFHCA Division I All-American First Team and was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Year. She and the Scarlet Knights had a standout year, clinching the Big Ten Tournament Championship and a history-making first seed in the NCAA Tournament. Glatz raked in accolades for her goaltending performance throughout the 2021 fall season. Off the field, Glatz — currently pursuing a master’s degree in elementary and early childhood education — excelled as well. She is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and a Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient. Glatz is a seven-time member of the Dean’s List with six perfect 4.00 semesters plus a 4.00 grade-point average in graduate school. She is a Chi Alpha Sigma inductee and a Chancellor’s Leadership Award recipient.
Katie Larmour, a graduate-student midfielder for the Scarlet Knights, was a 2021 NFHCA Division I Second-Team All-American. On the field, Larmour stood out, garnering First Team All-Big Ten and First Team NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors this season. Larmour earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and public health and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health administration. She is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, Rutger’s national collegiate honor society. Larmour is a six-time member of the Dean’s List with five perfect 4.00 semesters plus a 4.00 grade-point average in graduate school.
Aimee Plumb, a sophomore midfielder/forward from the University of Louisville, was a 2021 NFHCA All-American Third-Team selection. Additionally, Plumb earned First Team NFHCA All-West Region and All-ACC First-Team honors. Plumb is a psychology major in the University of Louisville’s College of Arts and Science. She has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and named a Dean’s Scholar for three-consecutive semesters. Additionally, Plumb was named a Red & Black Scholar for the past two academic years, as well as a member of the ACC All-Academic Team.
Glatz and Larmour are the first student-athletes from Rutgers to receive the National Scholar-Athlete award. Plumb is the second student-athlete from Louisville to receive the National Scholar-Athlete award, following her former teammate, Meghan Schneider, who earned the honor in 2020.
