Nolan, Pickul named Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III National Players of the Week

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Lauren Pickul, sophomore goalkeeper from Montclair State University, and Brianna Nolan, junior midfielder from the Eastern Connecticut State University, have been named this week’s Play Safe Turf & Track/NFHCA Division III Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Lauren Pickul, Montclair State University, So., Goalkeeper (Audubon, New Jersey)

Pickul picked up 11 saves in Montclair State University’s first win of the season over conference rival Stockton University. On Saturday, the sophomore goalkeeper faced 16 shots and allowed only one goal to help secure the 2-1 overtime win.

Pickul was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Brianna Nolan, Eastern Connecticut State University, Jr., Midfielder (Watertown, Connecticut)

Nolan had a hand in each one of Eastern State Connecticut University’s goals in their 3-2 overtime victory against conference rival Keene State College last week. To start the scoring, Nolan assisted on ECSU’s first goal of the game, she then scored to put the Warriors ahead 2-1. Four minutes and forty-six seconds into overtime, Nolan scored the game winner to secure Eastern Connecticut’s first win of the season.

Nolan was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
