“What is the VCC?”

The VCC — the Virtual Coaches’ Caucus — is a digital event for NFHCA members that will combine association business meetings, group breakout meetings, professional development presentations, and virtual on-field sessions over the course of a week.

The NFHCA is excited to provide an inspiring and engaging professional development event to our members.

The Format, Like a Mullet

The NFHCA staff is affectionately referring to the VCC’s format as “business in the front and party (professional development) in the back.”

The first three days of the VCC, January 5 – 7, are set aside for collegiate coaches to conduct their business meetings. Division I, II, and III members will have the opportunity to discuss submitted agenda items in Collegiate Membership Meetings and Collegiate Breakout Meetings.

To accommodate the schedules of our high school and club coach members, the NFHCA General Membership Meeting and High School/Club Breakout Meetings will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

The “party” will take place on Saturday and Sunday with two packed days of professional development presentations (we can’t wait to hear from Dr. Victoria Farris and Jen Fry!) and Ready2Coach sessions sponsored by AstroTurf®.

Where You’ll Land: The Platforms

The NFHCA has created the Digital Hub to make your VCC experience a breeze. The Hub houses the full schedule, important webinar and meeting links, documents, and live-event support. Attendees will get access to the Hub once their registration has been processed.

All group breakout meetings will take place on Zoom to accommodate and encourage discussion among members. Once registered, attendees will be able to find all meeting links on the VCC Digital Hub — members will also be able to vote via Zoom.

Collegiate Membership Meetings, the NFHCA General Membership Meeting, and all weekend presentations will take place on BigMarker, a robust webinar platform. Attendees will be automatically sent 15-minute reminders for each presentation and will be able to access all webinars from the Digital Hub.

How to Prepare

First things first, make sure you are registered to attend the VCC.

After that, confirm you have access to the Digital Hub, complete a BigMarker System Check, and update your Zoom display name to show your full name and institution (Ex. Sharon Taylor, Lock Haven University). The NFHCA created the VCC technology assistance page to help with all of these steps.

A Technology Check Drop-In Webinar is schedule for Monday, January, 4, 2021 — attendees are encouraged to attend between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. EST to familiarize themselves with BigMarker. Everyone who drops in will be entered to win a framed print of the custom artwork made for the VCC by Kah Yangni!

Leading up to the event, be sure to engage with the NFHCA and your colleagues on social media (#VCC2021). The more you engage, the more rewarding the event will be!
