2025 NFHCA Division III Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year

Regional Coaching Staff of the Year(3)

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Six Division III coaching staffs have been recognized as their respective region’s 2024 NFHCA Coaching Staff of the Year. Each of the honorees were selected by a majority vote of their regional colleagues.

Region I

Babson College

Julie Ryan, Lindsey O’Coin, Meghan Evans, Tori Roche
  • Closed the season 22-2, including a perfect 9-0 conference record, entering postseason play with a 14-game win streak.
  • Captured their fifth straight NEWMAC championship crown and eleventh straight regular-season title, advancing to the NCAA Division III Semifinals.
  • Placed five Beavers on the NEWMAC All-Conference Team and four on the NFHCA All-Region Team.
  • Ranked second in the nation (tied) in winning percentage (0.917).

Region II

Tufts University

Tina Mattera, Megan Caveny, Katie Weber, Troy Zirbel
  • Captured the 2025 NCAA Division III Natty Champ title, earning the program’s second national championship after securing an at-large berth.
  • Finished the season 19-3, including a 9-1 mark in conference play.
  • Placed five Jumbos on the NESCAC All-Conference Team, the program’s most since 2013, and four on the NFHCA All-Region Team.
  • Tied for No. 6 nationally in winning percentage (0.864).

Region III

Salisbury University

Dawn Chamberlin, Lindsey Barbacow, Brooke Tapman Lohr, Megan Block, Hanna Tilghman
  • Clinched first SUNYAC Championship title as a first-year associate member.
  • Advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the fourth straight year, finishing their 2025 campaign at 19-3 overall.
  • Placed seven Sea Gulls on the All-SUNYAC Team and four on the NFHCA All-Region Team.
  • Led the nation in shutouts (16), ranked No. 2 in goals-against average (0.49), tied for No. 5 nationally in goals per game (4.0), and tied for No. 6 nationally in winning percentage (0.864).

Region IV

Stevens Institute of Technology

Meredith York, Tatum Schatt, Felicia Heard, Kila Eadie
  • Closed the 2025 season 18-3, delivering a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
  • Captured their third consecutive MAC Freedom Championship title.
  • Placed seven Ducks on MAC Freedom All-Conference Team and five on the NFHCA All-Region Team.
  • Ranked No. 5 in scoring margin (3.05), No. 7 in goals per game (3.86) and No. 9 in winning percentage (0.857).

Region V

Johns Hopkins University

Jane Wells, James Albanese, Kristen O’Rourke, Claire Trilling
  • Secured the NCAA Division III national runner-up finish following a close contest in the national final.
  • Finished the season with a 22-2 record and unblemished 10-0 conference record, capturing their seventh straight Centennial Conference Championship title.
  • Placed five Blue Jays on the All-Centennial Conference Team and five on the NFHCA All-Region Team.
  • Ranked No. 2 nationally (tied) in winning percentage (0.917).

Region VI

Christopher Newport University

Carrie Moura, Marlene Lichty, Alex Morales, Maddison Steele
  • Powered through an undefeated regular season and ended the 2025 campaign 19-1, with their only loss occurring in the NCAA Semifinals.
  • Earned a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed and host for the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament’s opening weekend.
  • Placed eight CNU Captains on the NFHCA All-Region Team, with six earning First-Team accolades.
  • Led the nation in winning percentage (0.950) and goals-against average (0.39), ranked No. 2 nationally in shutouts (14), and ranked No. 6 in scoring margin (2.61).

 

While the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) officially recognizes each institution’s field hockey coaches, the association acknowledges the important work of all staff members who contribute to a program’s success.
